Job description

• The Solution Architect Specialist independently executes a range of workstreams in delivering the overall solution architecture design and mapping of business requirements, as well as organising smooth project delivery, empowering the implementation of functional solutions that are fit for purpose and delivered against stated business requirements
• The role holder will be responsible for e2e solution architecture for the Inbound portfolio within One Business, facilitating transition from the mainframe to the new One Business architecture

What you ll be doing

• Delivers deep technical and repeatable solutions that achieve customer requirements driving positive outcomes
  
• Guides partnerships with business and operational stakeholders to conduct business and technical discovery
  
• Implements robust recommendations, proposals and scope of work documents for group engagements while also identifying critical dependencies and gaps
  
• Delivers the creation of innovative and repeatable solution architectures to resolve a range of complex solution architecture problems and meet agreed requirements
  
• Facilitates business stakeholders understanding of capabilities and the transformative power of group products, services and technology
  
• Drives the team culture of enhancing the solution architect team s knowledge, methodologies and customer-facing collateral
  
• Executes alignment with Enterprise Architecture guardrails and solution patterns
  
• Contributes to thought leadership and provides advice on a specific set of technologies to help senior leadership shape the long-term direction of solution architecture strategy
  
• Delivers complex, strategic initiatives that are a part of the company's overall commercial Strategy
  
• Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in solution architecture
  
• Mentors other solution architects, helping to improve the team s abilities by acting as a technical resource
  
• Act as the technical expert on architecture governance and design authority for development of products and services in line with the published roadmap
  

The skills you ll need

Solution Architecture
Knowledge of Inbound Voice portfolio desirable.
Understanding of business process journeys (L2C, T2R, P&B)
Expert knowledge of the communications industry and relevant emerging network/software technologies.
TM Forum Framework
Understanding of networks
XML , Yang, Json and TOSCA
Business analysis
Requirements management
Estimating , KPI/Metric Monitoring
Design - ability to complete complex e2e designs
Shaping/driving cost optimised technical solutions to meet customer requirements on a short, medium or long term basis
Test driven design
Understanding of agile methodology
Exposure to ITIL/ETOM/TOGAF will be an advantage
Agile Methodologies and tools like JIRA, WIKI

Experience you d be expected to have

• Mandatory 10+yrs exp with
  Agile
• Experienced in working within an agile team and aware of the associated development practices and ceremonies.
  
• Communication - ability to communicate solutions to people of varying technical skill, work as a part of broader project teams.
  
• Continuous upskilling and ability to quickly learn new technologies
  
• Strong design skills, leadership abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Preferred
Knowledge of current BT Inbound portfolio solution and architecture landscape.
