Summary
The Business Systems Analyst will act as the primary interface to Product Managers and Agile Development teams promoting a strong partnership and collaborative working relationship.
It will be essential for this individual to understand how systems solutions fit into an organization. They must have credible knowledge of both business and computing models and techniques to effectively investigate business processes to understand and communicate how data, processes, and communications flow within and across business functions and departments.
Most importantly this role will partner with Product Managers to drive future strategy regarding technology and best-in-class processes necessitating them to be an excellent communicator, planner, and organizer with a comprehensive understanding of business application and technology integration.
Essential Functions
- Perform requirements gathering and documentation with clients, internal users, and third-party vendors for systems development, enhancements, and process improvements.
- User story creation and backlog management.
- Work with the Product Management team to implement systems and process solutions that will enable new business opportunities.
- Perform related duties as requested.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience:
- Five or more years as a business analyst, writing stories, functional requirements, and specifications for software development projects.
- Hands-on experience in project initiation and business requirements and analysis.
- Five or more years of hands-on total IT experience in an Agile environment.
- Two (2) or more years hands-on SQL experience - must be recent/current, is a big plus
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to research, define and analyze business problems.
- Ability to work with external clients and internal users to develop detailed, clearly written functional specifications for software development and for enhancement of existing software.
- Ability to work & communicate effectively with developers and Product Management.
- Knowledge of software development and maintenance methodologies.
- Proficient with Jira, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Visio, and MS Project.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
