Job description
The vice president of Engineering will report to the company's CTO and be responsible for all engineering Teams. This role will own and build a company Engineering team keeping with scaling business. Both of these metrics will be driven by the individual's ability to shape teams, create processes and produce frameworks that align the customers experience with the company's revenue goals.
Responsibilities - Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to multiple software development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Mentor and inspire team members to achieve their full potential
- Technical Strategy: Define and drive the technical strategy for our software development, including selecting the right technologies, architectures, and best practices. Ensure alignment with business objectives and scalability
- Product Development: Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle for both backend and frontend services, from concept to delivery. Collaborate closely with product management to define, prioritize, and execute on the product roadmap
- Hands-on Development: Lead by example through active participation in coding, code reviews, and technical discussions. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain software development best practices, including coding standards, testing methodologies, and code quality. Ensure the delivery of reliable and high-performance software
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, QA, infrastructure, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of services and applications
- Scalability and Performance: Architect and optimize systems for scalability, reliability, and performance to meet the demands of a rapidly growing user base
- Security: Ensure that security best practices are followed, and data protection measures are in place, especially in the context of healthcare data
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage the software development budget and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and business goals
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the software development teams, fostering a culture of learning and innovation
Qualifications And Education Requirements - 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in software development, with a proven track record of successfully leading and growing development teams
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core, Azure, SQL Server, as well as a deep understanding of modern software development practices
- Solid understanding of modern front-end frameworks such as Next.js, React, Angular, Vue, etc
- Experience in the healthcare or telehealth industry is a plus
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex architecture within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges
- Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools
- A commitment to quality, security, and best practices in software development
