In this role, the individual will collaborate with senior risk leaders, business partners, middle office, and other control functions to understand the potential impact of credit on other types of risk â€' e.g., Market, Liquidity, Operating, Reputational, etc. In addition, the Credit Officer will be responsible for analysis of credit opportunities, structuring transactions, negotiating, and reviewing terms, conducting due diligence, and identifying potential risks for counterparties, issuers and/or clients. As a Credit Officer the candidate will also drive innovation by initiating and leading key transformation projects for the organization.
Job responsibilities
- Responsibility for credit risk management on the US Credit portfolio focused on Single Coverage Portfolio
- Ensure credit exposure is structured, documented and approved in accordance with JPMorgan Credit Policy.
- Monitor all Exception Reports, work with integrated team to understand issues, approve resolution plans, and escalate potential problems immediately.
- Work closely with other senior management, other risk functions (market, liquidity, operating, reputational, etc.), and other Lines of Business such as the Corporate and Investment Bank to ensure application of holistic risk appetite and governance.
- Identify and monitor concentrations, trends, and themes in the portfolio.
- Drive key projects and strategic initiatives to help close gaps, enhance existing processes, and improve risk management.
- Challenge the status quo. Continuously strive to find better, more efficient ways to manage credit risk and business flow, including underwriting.
Mi Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 3 years in Banking, with experience structuring complex credit transactions, or other related experience
- Proven ability to analyze credit structures, make informed decisions, and mitigate the credit risks
- Excellent leadership, management, and business partnership skills
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, influencing, and coaching skills, spoken and written
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully with others to foster an inclusive environment
- High level of analytical skills, including financial analysis
- Attention to detail and ability to drive results across a global organization
- Experience and familiarity approving credit transactions preferred
