About The Company

We, RentoMojo, were founded by IITM alums and serial entrepreneurs who worked out of almost every major city in India in his first five years of corporate career. Frustrated with the hassles of relocating from one place to the other, and tired of finding that perfect cluster of home essentials that suited their lifestyle.

The spending youth, especially the millennials & Gen Z's prefer staying light, desire flexibility and are value conscious. Willing to experiment with new stuff across categories that make life simpler and not boring, these generations are also sensitive to our planet's sustainability. RentoMojo caters to the needs of the working professionals which is unmet due to nonavailability of furnished rental flats by offering furniture and appliances on rental basis, thus, providing more flexibility than owning the expensive furniture and appliances.

Currently, we have 130,000+ subscribers with a typical rental period of 1214 months. The current market size (as per a recent report by Grant Thornton) is estimated to be US$ 4.1 Billion and expected to grow to US$ 13 Billion by 2025.

With 1000+ people operations, the company has a presence in 16 cities across India. Looking back, Rentomojo has not only made a new market of lease which never existed for the consumer, they have also become market leaders in the consumer rental industry. Unlike the norm, they are now seeing a reverse trend wherein a version of ours is being copied in the US and UK. We are also profitable at monthly PAT since Oct 2021.

We can have hundreds of reasons behind why something can not be done, but we have to remain focused on the how of things. The focus on how will help us find ways to get done, what needs to get done.

About The Role

Enable the CEO's in strategic financial operations, analysis, project management, investment management and decision-making.

Responsibilities And Ownership

General

  • Be a trusted financial advisor to the CEO. Keep CEO updated on Financial Reporting, Audit and Compliance (understand FC & Capital work to CEO, & prioritize the project based on CEO's insights)
  • Provide insightful analysis to the CEO on the impact of FC and Capital projects on the company's financial health.
  • Work closely with the CEO to identify key financial priorities and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to prioritize projects, ensuring resource allocation aligns with the CEO's strategic vision.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the CEO on critical milestones.
  • Develop and evaluate investment strategies, identifying potential opportunities and assessing associated risks.
  • Conduct thorough market research on stocks, companies, and industries to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, presentations, and forecasts to support executive-level discussions and initiatives.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to drive performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure integration of financial data into strategic planning processes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging financial trends and developments, offering proactive recommendations.

Financial Analysis And Reporting

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, including balance sheet, revenue, expenses, and cash flow, to provide accurate and timely reports for the CEO.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial models, forecasts, and variance analysis to identify key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Generate regular reports and presentations for executive meetings, summarizing financial performance and highlighting critical insights.

Strategic Planning And Decision Support

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assist in strategic planning initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support key business decisions and initiatives.
  • Evaluate potential investments, acquisitions, or other strategic opportunities, presenting findings to the CEO for consideration.

Performance Metrics And KPIs

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance and assess the effectiveness of financial strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret KPI data to identify areas for improvement and present actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Fund Advisory

  • Research and recommend the founder on his personal wealth investment strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CA/CFA/MBA Finance with a track record of successfully analyzing financial data and providing actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools.
  • Stakeholder and people management skills.
  • Passion for Project management.
  • Unwavering attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Impactful verbal and written communication skills, presenting complex financial information with clarity and conciseness.
  • An eye on automation of processes and active coordination with tech and product teams to ensure products are being launched to automate manual and repetitive processes
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Well versed with software tools like MS-Office, Power BI, ERPs like Tally Prime
  • Experience in development and documenting processes, SOPs, documentary controls, and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
