This role is for an experienced audit professional to join the Commercial and Investment Banking Business Audit Team reporting locally into Audit Manager or Director in India.

Job Summary

As a Senior Auditor in our Internal Audit group, you will lead audit assignments, perform and document audit testing, partner closely with global Audit colleagues and business stakeholders, and use judgment to strengthen internal controls. The role provides the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of Commercial and Investment Banking Securities Services business, specifically Custody, Fund Accounting, Trade Processing and Transfer Agency space. 

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and participate on audit assignments, from planning to reporting, and produce quality deliverables to both department and professional standards, while ensuring audits are completed timely and within budget
• Liase and Partner with stakeholders, business management, other control groups (i.e. risk management, compliance, fraud prevention), external auditors, and regulators, establishing strong working relationships while maintaining independence
• Finalize and communicate audit findings and use judgment to provide an overall opinion on the control environment by developing recommendations to strengthen internal controls
• Implement and execute an effective program of continuous auditing for assigned areas, including monitoring of key metrics to identify control issues and adverse trends
• Manage teams effectively where required, performing timely review of work performed and providing honest and constructive feedback
• Stay up-to-date with evolving industry/regulatory developments impacting the business and participate in appropriate control forums
• Demonstrate and maintain technical competency

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Minimum 10 years of internal or external auditing experience, or relevant business experience
• Minimum a Bachelor's degree (or relevant financial services experience) 
• Ability to operate as an effective auditor, you will have a solid understanding of internal control concepts and the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy of controls for a given set of risks
• Experience with internal audit methodology and applying concepts in audit delivery and execution
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; adept at presenting complex and sensitive issues to senior management
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and build partnerships with senior business and control partners, while also influencing the actions of the business to improve its control environment.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in regard to assessing the probability and impact of an internal control weakness
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively and drive efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies

Preferred, qualifications capabilities, and skills

• Chartered Accountant or equivalent, Certified Internal Auditor, and/or Advanced Degree in Finance or Accounting 
• Relevant working experience in Investment/ Custodian Banking
