- A Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (MS SQL DBA) is responsible for managing and maintaining the performance, security, and availability of Microsoft SQL Server databases
- This involves installing, configuring, and upgrading database software, designing and implementing database backup and recovery strategies, monitoring and tuning database performance, and ensuring data integrity and security
- The MS SQL DBA may also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving database issues, and providing technical support to users
- Additional responsibilities may include developing and implementing database policies and procedures, documenting database designs and configurations, and collaborating with developers to optimize database applications
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, analytical skills
