Designation- Manager Safety-Mfg

Location- Mumbai

Job Purpose -

  • To assist GCPL safety lead in developing and implementing Safety Management Standards to meet international best practices and to promote safety in mfg. sites in order to ensure zero harm to employees, contractors and third parties.
  • To provide technical expertise in fire & chemical safety.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Update existing and develop new elements of documented management system including Technical Standards based on best of safety standards.
  • Provide technical support to the business/country/cluster teams for formulation and execution of risk mitigation based on the standards.
  • Work with businesses/clusters/sites to develop and implement safety standards across the business lifecycle / project stages.
  • Ensure standardization of systems, practices across businesses
  • Develop & implement various training modules on the subject & build capabilities in team through regular training.
  • To schedule & carry out periodic and surprise OHS Audits across various business sites & manage audit data.
  • Provide recommendations and input for revising safety procedures, work processes, and other quality improvement measures.
  • Guide the site EHS team on new organizational requirements, which evolve from time to time and develop implementation plan.
  • Identify & implement newer, safer ways of operations.
  • Participate and contribute to major projects, change implementation and accident investigation.
  • Work with site team for implementation of critical Safety systems and carry out periodic audits to ensure effectiveness of system.
  • To prepare periodic OHS reports with specific focus on critical issues.
  • Facilitate businesses to conduct quality incident investigation, and help sites to take necessary corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Support site in developing and implementing effective CAPA's and share these learning's within region.
  • Analyze and review monthly safety performance with site leadership team and help team in preparation of CAPA.
  • Along with HR team prepare and conduct various employee engagement activities for safety.
  • Consolidate business MIS and ensure periodic updates to business leadership

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate in Engineering (preferably Fire/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering) and Diploma in Industrial Safety from CLI/RLI, NEBOSH

Experience

  • About 8-12 years of experience in industrial Safety.

Skills

  • Technical experience in fire, chemical & machine safety engineering, data analysis, various risk assessment methodology.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety and health standards & industry
  • Working knowledge of safety and health IT tools and how those tools integrate into other functional work processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory and legal requirements in respect of both Health & Safety
  • Technical Skills
    • Analytical skills.
    • Proficient in using MS Office
    • Good observation and auditing skills
