About the Team
We are Group Costing Methods (GCM) team within Underwiring Excellence and are responsible for the definition and improvement of Costing methods, review, calibration and deployment of costing parameters. We are a highly collaborative, knowledgeable team with costing expertise across lines of business. Team is currently mainly spread across Zurich and Bengaluru. We have mandate to advice on underwriting decisions and assert a holistic costing framework for new business and data driven insights across the organization
About the role
We are looking for a self-driven Business Analyst, with a good overview of (re)insurance business to join the Group Costing Methods department in Bengaluru. The role is primarily focused on Costing Parameters and how to make the Costing infrastructure fit for the future.
We are currently building fast and reliable data management infrastructure which can host all types of reference data and pricing parameters that is fundament to do pricings across insurance and reinsurance.
Your role will be responsible to function as Technical BA and will be able to translate business requirements into IT language for developers. You are expected to take ownership, drive topics forward towards customers and results. You can expect to be working with other experts in some of the innovative areas like actuary, underwriting, IT.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Business requirement gathering and documentation.
- Design, develop and maintain costing data and infrastructure.
- Use innovative data techniques, platforms and tools to drive and deliver projects across business units.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers and Engineering team, serve as a liaison between the business and technology teams.
- Design and implement data products in collaboration with data users and other engineering teams.
- Ensure reliability, quality, and efficient performance of our data products.
- Support the concept finding & implementation of new fit for future costing infrastructure.
- Support teams from around the organization by answering / clarifying ad hoc requests.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on process, input, output and sign-offs.
- Understanding and implementation of Data structure.
- Proactive stakeholder management.
The corporate title of the position will be AVP.
About You
- Experience: 3-4 years of experience in business and system analysis in (Re)insurance industry.
- A Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or a very strong quantitative background combined with adequate experience in the (re) insurance industry.
- Experience in data modelling, data ingestion/ETL solutions and data & system integration via data exchanges and APIs is a plus. Understanding of JSON, XML and Postman.
- Demonstrated ability to discover and describe the current state situation, understand strategic business goals as well as different stakeholder needs, design and articulate future state, perform gap analysis and make recommendations to business lead that meet goals and requirements.
- Experience in SQL coding .
- Good understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server etc.)
- Experience in documenting user-stories, process flows, data flows and agile development.
- Strong communication skills: you naturally bring individuals together in an interdisciplinary, multi-cultural environment and cross-functional teams.
- Open and curious to learn more, quick-minded, creative, challenging status quo & navigates ambiguity.
- Self-starter who is methodical and well-organized. Highly committed, upbeat, proficient and reliable.
