Knows the achievable tolerances and Surfaces for typical machining and manufacturing process.
Create concept, layout and detail 3D models and 2D drawings of engine components (inlc. GD&T) – Geometric Design and Tolerancing
Use of data management system (PDM, Team Centre) for part naming; design release and change management
Discussion with suppliers for design optimisation for manufacturing / cost
Preparation of CAD Data in specified format for sharing with Simulation team , and design update based on simulation results
Travel to suppliers across India for ensuring parts quality based on the drawing specifications
Taking lead for supplier discussions , preparation of Base Component Specifications for alignment with supplier.
Support for incoming parts inspection and quality check
Support for engine build and tear-down activities, along with preparation of design reports
Essential 4 – 6 years of relevant experience in Auto /Auto Ancillary Industry. Relevant hands on experience of working on Engine components / different sub-systems. Product application: Commercial Vehicle (OnRoad / OffRoad) The Ideal Candidate Would Possess The Following Competencies Knowledge (What the person must know):
