Role Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design Conceptualization:
- Collaborate with the design team to understand and interpret creative concepts.
- Develop design ideas and concepts for various jewelry pieces, considering market trends and customer preferences.
Manual Sketching:
- Utilize manual drawing techniques to create detailed sketches and illustrations of jewelry designs.
- Produce accurate and scaled drawings that serve as a blueprint for the production process.
Technical Drawings:
- Create detailed technical drawings with specifications for materials, dimensions, and gemstone placements.
- Ensure that technical drawings adhere to industry standards and production requirements.
Material Selection:
- Work closely with the production team to select appropriate materials, gemstones, and finishes for each design.
- Consider cost implications and quality standards when choosing materials.
Prototype Development:
- Oversee the development of prototypes based on approved designs, collaborating with artisans and craftsmen.
- Make necessary adjustments to prototypes to ensure design integrity and functionality.
Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough quality checks on prototypes and finished products to ensure they meet design specifications.
- Address any issues related to design integrity during the production process.
Market Research:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and customer preferences to inform the design process.
- Propose innovative design ideas that align with market demands.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of design concepts, sketches, technical drawings, and prototype iterations.
- Provide necessary documentation for product catalogs and presentations.
Qualifications
- Strong manual design skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in using design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience in working with diamond studded jewelry
- Understanding of jewelry design and production processes
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Jewelry Design or related field
- Knowledge of 3D jewelry design software such as Rhino or Matrix is a plus
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
