Job description
As the R&D Head of our IT consulting firm, you will be responsible for leading strategic research and development initiatives. Your role is pivotal in driving innovation, identifying emerging technologies, and conceiving solutions that elevate our service offerings.
LOCATION: Trivandrum , Willingness to travel extensively across India as the situation demands.
 Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build a Research Team from scratch
- Identify & mentor a team of fresh graduates/ experienced software engineers and provide clear guidance, and feedback, set performance objectives, and support professional growth to ensure a high-performing and motivated team
- Develop and implement a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company's vision and goals. Identify areas of potential growth and create a roadmap for innovative projects and technology advancements.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in technology, software development, and IT consulting. Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging technologies that can enhance our service offerings and provide a competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with internal teams to brainstorm and conceptualize cutting-edge solutions that cater to our clients' evolving needs. Leverage your expertise to propose innovative ideas and approaches for addressing complex challenges.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, designers, and business development professionals. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure seamless integration of R&D efforts with other business functions.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and timely delivery of R&D projects. Monitor project milestones, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Nurture a culture that promotes creativity, curiosity, and continuous learning. Encourage team members to think outside the box, experiment with new ideas, and contribute to the organization's overall growth.
- Keep a close eye on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments related to IT consulting and technology. Use this knowledge to proactively adapt and refine the company's R&D strategy.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of R&D projects, from ideation and planning to execution and commercialization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion while meeting quality standards.

Education and Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in leading and managing R&D initiatives in the IT industry, with at least 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of successfully guiding teams and projects to achieve strategic objectives.

- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, version control systems, and best practices for open-source development.
