Overview:
As an Ophthalmologist for OPD you play a crucial role in providing comprehensive eye care services to outpatients. Your expertise in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions is vital in enhancing the vision and overall wellbeing of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough eye examinations and evaluations for outpatient cases.
- Diagnose and treat vision problems eye diseases and conditions such as glaucoma cataracts and macular degeneration.
- Perform surgical procedures including cataract surgery LASIK and other corrective surgeries.
- Prescribe medications eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed.
- Collaborate with optometrists primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients about eye care safety and preventive measures.
- Maintain detailed patient records and documentation of treatment plans.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and incorporate best practices into patient care.
- Participate in professional development activities and continuous medical education.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in the field of ophthalmology.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of an accredited ophthalmology residency program.
- Board certification in ophthalmology.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Demonstrated surgical skills and experience in performing ophthalmic procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced outpatient setting.
- Commitment to providing highquality empathetic patient care.
- Detailoriented and capable of maintaining accurate medical records.
- Continual pursuit of knowledge in the field of ophthalmology through ongoing education and training.
