Position Title: Accounting Analyst ( Payroll )
Job Location: Bangalore, KA-India
Job Purpose:
To assist in running the payroll process for different business units of CAT and the related payroll accounting.
Job Duties and responsibilities:
- The main responsibility of this resource is to process Payroll for Staff and Management, Support and Production employees with through quality check and ensure to make the salary credit on the pay date. (end to end payroll process viz. validate time sheets, one time inputs, head counts, CTC validation, Payroll Reconciliation and till the upload of Bank file).
- Co-ordinate with HR partners, Ramco and WD team to address the challenges.
- Validate time sheets provided by HR, Workday reports and one-time inputs provided by HR and Workday reports.
- Manage payroll reimbursement, tax declaration monthly before the cut off.
- Handling employee queries through payroll portal and attending employee queries via Help Desk, in a timely manner.
- Co-ordinate to make statutory payments like, PF, PT, ESI on time.
- Taking on boarding sessions for the new joiners and provide suitable clarification to employee queries.
- Support tax proof verification once in a year to ensure correct exemptions are captured for withholding taxes computation and while issuing Form 16.
- Posting Journal Entries for payroll and vendor payments and perform payroll reconciliation (CART) in a timely manner.
- Processing Full and Final Settlement based on HR inputs and ensure to make the settlement on time.
- Support Statutory Audit for the payroll related documents, preparing schedules and provide the necessary information to Audit.
- Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.
Qualification:
- Degree (in accounting) / Postgraduate and well experienced in the area of Payroll processing with 3 to 5 years of experience.
Functional and Technical Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge in payroll processing balancing internal controls and knowledge in payroll taxes.
- Must demonstrate inter-personal skill and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent organization skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficient in payroll software skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritizing the work, willing to stretch during payroll completion time and adhering to the Caterpillar Policies and procedures is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office, Advance Excel, Power BI, SAP knowledge, Workday / Ramco payroll systems is an added advantage.
Background/experience:
- Requires a Degree / Post Graduate with 3-5 years equivalent experience in Payroll processing and accounting, knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhere to the policies of Information protection guidelines and Data security , general understanding of Caterpillar organization.
