Job location- Uganda (East Africa)

CA/ICWA with 8 to 12 yrs experience in Microfinance Bank.

Accounting Operations Management:

• Supervise and manage all accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Streamline accounting processes and operations to enhance efficiency.

Budgeting and Financial Forecasting:

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Analyze variances and provide timely reports to senior management.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and publish accurate monthly financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

Internal Controls and Risk Management :

• Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.
• Support the month-end and year-end close process.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Tax Compliance:

· Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Process Documentation:

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller with at least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience in microfinance industry.
• Advanced degree in Accounting.
• CA or CPA certification preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
