About the Role
A storyboard artist is a visual storyteller who converts written scripts into a series of 2D images, commonly known as a storyboard. Images are created by hand or computer to map out the action, framing, and key scenes in a script, acting as a visual guide for how live-action is shot and how the animation will play out.
Storyboards are used in film, television, advertising, video gaming, and all forms of moving media as a guide for production. This is a vital role as it must convey the spirit of the story through gesture, emotion, movement, and logical progression of action.
Requirements
- Can understand brand guidelines, theme, design style, reference and other provided assets.
- To conceptualize and sketch out the provided written brief/script.
- To achieve desirable results.
- Lead a team to achieve desired results.
- Quality check before client’s delivery.
- Deliver assigned-task in a given timeframe.
- Strong communication skills to communicate with clients or to provide any suggestion.
- Can do proper research and development to achieve desired results.
- Create concepts and sketches of environments, characters, buildings, vehicles and props.
- Excellent time management skills, to achieve tight deadlines.
Requirement
- Creative and imaginative with an eye for balance, and layout.
- Strong sketching skills, with a specialization in concept design.
- Experience in handling a team.
- The ability to lead a team as a part of wider design process.
- Leadership Quality to manage the team.
- Excellency in using software like Adobe Photoshop and also the Wacom.
- Ability to explain concepts and support artistic choices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable
- Comfortable in working in a team and leading a team at the same time.
- Demonstrates continued personal/professional development,
- Active in the Animation community.
Background
- Bachelor’s Degree is a must.
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator will be a plus.
