Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
This role is within a Data Warehousing focused team, which is responsible the delivery of Data and Client reporting across Barclaycard Payments. The demands will include building, maintaining and enhancing a number of core business data entities, in a culture where best practice, optimisation and the latest data warehouse techniques are shared between teams and geographies, continually driving improvements in warehousing solutions.
What will you be doing?
Using SAS and SQL warehousing tools, build, maintain and enhance a number of core business data marts.
Ensure best practice is applied to enable adherence to reported Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
Work across teams and stakeholders to identify new requirements for data including the design, execution and testing across the Barclaycard Payments business.
What we’re looking for:
• Minimum 5 years of Big Data (Hadoop) Warehousing experience including advanced Impala SQL and SAS coding skills (data steps, SQL, macros)
• Proficient Stakeholder Management and communication skills with an ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
• Able to translate business requirements into detailed, production level technical specifications
• Proven problem solver with experience of complex data issues resolution.
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Functional Knowledge of Cloud based infrastructures , e.g. AWS
• Knowledge of Acquiring and Issuing Payments data and processes
• Strong team player, cross collaboration with different business functions
• SAS/CONNECT and knowledge of ODBC
