Job description
Qualification and Certifications:
- The candidate shall graduate in Mechanical/ Metallurgical Engineering with 10-12 years relevant experience.
- Welding Certification to CSWIP 3.1/ IWE/IWT is preferable.
- Valid NDE Level II certification in PT, VT as per EN ISO 9712
Experience:
- Knowledge in preparing WPS, WPQR and welder certifications as per AWS and EN ISO Standards.
- Experience in fabrication with MIG/MAG process and with Robots/ SPM.
- Ability to solve welding related issues and implement improvement measures.
- Experience in implementation of welding systems based on ISO 3834-2 and EN 15085-2
- Knowledge of steel codes and standards based in IS, ASTM and EN standards.
- Good knowledge of ISO/IATF, EMS, OHSAS.
Job Profile:
- The candidate is expected to manage the welding workshop independently and lead a team of 15~20 workforce.
- Managing a team of welders and fitters/ helpers, Handling of welding in SPM and robots.
- Prepare and qualify welding procedures and welders as per AWS D1.1 and EN ISO standards.
- Facilitate proper maintenance and utilization of welding related equipment in the workshop.
- Inspection of testing of fabricated items before and after welding. Prepare and maintain records.
- Prepare for and facilitate audits by certification bodies for ISO 3834-2 and EN 15085-2.
- Troubleshoot process problems.
- Improve welding process capability.
- Should be a good team leader.
- TPM/Six Sigma knowledge is an added advantage.
