Job description
IT Project Management Responsibilities:
- Develop project justification proposals, business cases, and return on investment estimates; obtain executive approval and funding.
- Develop and maintain key project governance documentation such as detailed project plans to ensure the proper amount of structure is applied to enable project success.
- Manage complex projects to major milestones by establishing adequate communication channels and forums, and ensuring necessary action is taken. Facilitate project-related testing, roll-out, and post-mortem work.
- Provide timely updates and elevate critical risks to project, management, and senior executive teams.
- IT Portfolio Management and Reporting: Design and implement balanced scorecards/ dashboards to report on portfolios, projects, vendors, and financials. Translate benchmarking results and new/best practices to the IT organization. Develop an intake/strategy and prioritization frameworks to ensure we are solving the right problem in the right order that drives the most impact
- IT Project Management Process Adoption and Maturity: Deploy process improvements across the organization that make PMO and IT efficient, effective and transparent with their project planning and management, ensuring alignment with management objectives
- IT Business Alignment: Lead program management governance, conduct regular reviews such that key projects are tracking to defined objectives and KPIs, maintain stakeholder alignment, and proactively manage risk to quality and schedule performance
- IT Leadership Alignment: Align IT leaders on PMO responsibilities, and establish accountability for standardized processes, reporting, and governance across IT. Work with IT leads to define and manage business processes and technology roadmaps in support of long-term strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years in IT, Business Applications , or Business Operations Project Management.
- Experience with leading cross-functional and transformation programs that influence multiple departments within the company
- Strong business and technical acumen, and ability to translate technical requirements to business language and vice-versa
- Excellent verbal and written communication across project and management teams
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- A proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment
- Experience managing KPIs and performance objectives
