Project Overview:
Finance Data Engineer will play a key role in creating, maintaining, and governing application support across multiple application like Peoplesoft EPM, PeopleSoft GL , OFSAA and SAP applications. Communicates with systems and partners at all levels about new processes and recommendations. Acts as a business/technical consultant to other partners and coordinates implementation of new processes and techniques. The candidate for this role will be responsible for handling and resolving production issues, developing enhancements, upgrades, and offer expert advice and direction to our business partner
Major Duties:
· Conducts feasibility studies ,defines and designs system requirements for complex data processing projects.
· Responsible for handling and resolving production issues, developing enhancements, upgrades, and offer expert advice and direction to business partner.
· Strong knowledge and experience in SQL programming. Able to write simple and complex queries independently.
· Evaluates and makes recommendations on techniques, practices or technologies that would enhance business needs. Also ensures continuous process improvements. Performance tuning of the application to achieve stability.
· Experience in job monitoring tools like BMC ControlM and track tickets in service now on daily basis
· Experience in Microsoft excels functions.
· Experience in Data warehouse methodologies like chart field/dimension maintenance and Management reporting is a plus.
· Maintain dimension using Peoplesoft Trees and pages. Understand the concepts of slowly changing dimension
· Identify end-to-end scenarios and the impact to sub-systems, interfaces, modules areas of Business process and provide expertise as to critical solutions. Creating prototypes and use cases of recommended solution helping user in visualizing the system.
· Define the overall solution for large and complex systems during the business requirement gathering process, functional specifications phase and leverage advantages of time zones for its support. Managing execution of solutions and supporting quality assurance processes.
· Prepares and review project phase reports, including requirements, feasibility, definition, and design and evaluate production impact and support requirements.
· Responsible for translating business needs into sound technical solutions. Work closely with the functional staff to determine the appropriate technical solution to client requests for change.
· Produce detailed technical designs to meet user requirements and development standards. Develops or maintains computer programs including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and installation as needed.
· Consults with partners from systems and other business units regarding new techniques, practices, or technologies in data processing and the impact of proposed and ongoing projects
· Acts as the technical or business consultant on project development/production health, new techniques, and the implementation of new processes. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor Analyst level employees
· Works on projects and learning/refining project or process management skills
· Hands on experience on disaster recovery process and documentation
· More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas. Delivers a work product that requires less revision.
· Responsible for resolving production issues and should be available for support during critical month end close process and quarter end process.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
