POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
The Planning Manager will be responsible for overall leadership, coordination and communication of the planning process for Industrial Coimbatore Business. The role will work closely with supply chain, customer service, operations, and Engineering for each to build a robust planning process and alignment with the SIOP, which will maximize the link between customer demand and material supply.
Principal Activities
- Process improvement of the planning process
- Anticipate and drive correction of schedule attainment problems with Supply Chain from causes such as vendor shortages and customer changes
- Manage the schedule for production and all deliverables
- Develop and maintain the forecast and master schedule within capacity constraints, and in support of the operating plan, to achieve on-time shipments to customers
- Work with Plant Managers, Materials Managers, and Commercial Operations to pulse the master schedule and forecast to ensure the plan is tracking to the perpetual internal and external needs of market demand
- Support and expand on all opportunities to level load the plan to drive improvements in inventory, fulfillment, cycle time, capacity management and growth
- Utilize ERP system to manage material flow and work prioritization
- Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
- Ensure material flow to the production line without material shortage and with appropriate inventory level
- Manage and influence work order commitment activities ensuring all goals are achieved
- Develop plan to assure inventory targets are achieved
- Work with Product and Supply Chain Management team to develop new product lead times
Requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Strong MRP skills and disciplines
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
- Previous experience with master scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management and procurement
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.
- A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment
- A self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced environment that is continually changing
- Highly motivated, results oriented, driven
- Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience coordinating many small projects/activities at one time.
- Expert proficiency with ERP systems required
Education & Experience
- A minimum of bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or other related field note: experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- 12+ years progressive experience Sales, Inventory and operations planning roles
