Job Description: The senior DBA, working closely with senior engineers.
, will be responsible for designing, optimizing, monitoring, and maintaining the NetScribe databases, including:
Understanding the architecture of the NetScribe database software layer;
Understanding the structure of the NetScribe database itself;
Understanding new requirements and their associated DB changes, with the engineering team;
Creating tables, fields, queries, indexes, etc., and applying those changes to dev, QA, demo, and production systems;
Tracking DB changes and software dependencies closely;
Deploying DB changes ahead of associated software changes;
Monitoring DB performance, query performance (i.e., slow queries), DB locks and deadlocks, and other problematic DB phenomena, and developing corrective actions;
Creating operational and other reports as required; and
Troubleshooting support and development issues associated with the databases (structure or data). Educational Requirements:
BE/B-Tech in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent degree.
Training in relational database development, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
6+ years working with Microsoft SQL, Postgres databases creating tables, fields, indexes, queries, views, reports;
Experience working with AWS, RDS, No SQL Databases etc.
3+ years in the role of DBA working with product development and production systems;
Experience working with AWS Data Lake is preferred.
Experience with MS SQL query optimization tools and techniques;
Able to review and verify DB change; create DB change scripts; create rollback procedures;
Programming language experience nice to have (python, .NET, Java, etc.);
Entity Framework experience nice to have; report writing skills;
