Your Role and Responsibilities
The Z Mod Stack development team is looking for software engineers with a real passion for creating solutions to enable enterprise customers to solve business problems. The right candidates will be valued members of the Z Mod Stack team and will closely work within a multi-disciplined squad, in a design led and agile environment, to deliver world class quality product enhancements. Software development continues to transform within Z Mod Stack and across the industry and the right candidates will want to actively engage in these improvements and will get the opportunity to take the highly successful Z Mod Stack product to the next level. The successful candidates will want to grow their problem solving abilities, learn how to apply new technologies to provide solutions to business problems and work within a highly successful team.
The role includes collaborating with development teams across the business to help offer them a simple and reliable way to get IBM software for the IBM Z ecosystem to market.
- Working with our internal customers to debug and resolve build and infrastructure issues.
- Deploying and managing services and infrastructure on Z.
- Collaborating to develop tooling and automation to support delivery of software on Z across IBM.
- Expected to participate in scrums, sprint planning and retrospectives and be an active member of the team providing feedback to improve as needed.
- You will be expected to work collaboratively with the team, learn new technologies and apply the skills learned.
- Need to have core troubleshooting skills, respond with urgency on incidents, perform root cause analysis, look out for the patterns, build knowledge base.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 6-12 years of experience in Understanding of the end-to-end Development Lifecycle.
- Experience of software Build technologies.
- Experience in creating, modernising and supporting robust CI/CD pipelines.
- Other useful skills: Microsoft Azure, zOS, CICS, Docker & Kubernetes, Jenkins, OpenShift, Ansible, Eclipse, VS, Github, Maven, Gradle, Python
- Some experience with any or all of the following: Linux, Groovy, GitHub Enterprise, Ansible, Jenkins
- Effectively communicate with global and cross functional teams.
- Debugging, problem determination and isolation skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Knowledge of web services, Liberty or containerisation.
- Knowledge of z/OS. Tools you might use in your day to day role
- Knowledge of Eclipse with plugins to support your role

As part of the zSoftware development team, you would be developing, testing and supporting industry leading integration products that are central to digital transformation for large organizations. You will be part of the TXSeries and CICS TX development team (part of CICS portfolio), which is owned fully by the India Systems Development Lab. IBM Vaccination Policy
