Job Title: New Product Development Specialist (Adhesive Company)
Job Summary: The New Product Development Specialist for an adhesive
company plays a vital role in driving innovation and growth by leading the
development of new adhesive products and solutions. This role involves
research development and testing of adhesive formulations as well as
collaboration with crossfunctional teams to bring new products to market
successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research and Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify trends customer needs
and competitive offerings in the adhesive industry.
Analyze existing product lines and performance to identify
areas for improvement and expansion.
2. Product Conceptualization:
Work closely with marketing sales and R&D teams to
conceptualize new adhesive products or product
enhancements.
Define product specifications target markets and value
propositions.
3. Formulation and Development:
Lead the formulation and development of adhesive products
considering factors such as bonding properties chemical
composition and environmental impact.
Collaborate with chemists and engineers to optimize product
formulations.
4. Testing and Quality Assurance:
Design and execute comprehensive testing and quality
assurance protocols to ensure product performance and
compliance with industry standards.
Identify and address any product issues or inconsistencies.
5. Prototype Development:
Develop prototypes and pilot batches of new adhesive products
for testing and evaluation.
Modify formulations and features based on test results and
feedback.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated on industry regulations and standards related to
adhesives ensuring that new products comply with relevant
guidelines.
Prepare documentation for regulatory approvals if required.
7. CrossFunctional Collaboration:
Work closely with crossfunctional teams including R&D
manufacturing sales marketing and customer support to
coordinate product development efforts.
Communicate progress challenges and project status
effectively to stakeholders.
8. Project Management:
Develop project timelines budgets and resource plans for new
product development initiatives.
Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
9. Intellectual Property:
Identify and protect intellectual property including patents and
trade secrets related to new adhesive formulations and
technologies.
10. Training and Knowledge Sharing:
Train internal teams sales representatives and customers on
the features and benefits of new adhesive products.
Share technical expertise within the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in chemistry chemical engineering
materials science or a related field.
Proven experience in adhesive product development preferably in a
relevant industry.
Strong knowledge of adhesive chemistry and formulation.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Effective project management abilities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.
Ability to adapt to changing market demands and technological
advancements.
