As a Agile Program Manager working in Ford Credit IT, you will join a team that supports to develop digital products in financial platform engineering. You will engage the team to identify and rank opportunities for development or refactoring while continuously removing roadblocks. This role works incredibly closely with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to ensure effective delivery of value through the system.

Responsibilities

  • The Agile Release Train Engineer (ARTE) is responsible for coordinating and leading the Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure successful delivery of software products and solutions. The ARTE manages and oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of program increments (PIs) and releases, ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand the product vision, and requirements.
  • Lead and facilitate ART ceremonies, including PI planning, system demos, and retrospectives.
  • Uses the product roadmap to guide the team's efforts delivering highest value outcome.
  • Facilitates conversations to achieve user story completion, while ensuring customer acceptance criteria is actionable.
  • Works with cross-product teams to identify and orchestrate dependency resolution.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the ART.
  • Facilitate dependency management and resolution across the ART and with other ARTs.
  • Manage risks and dependencies, escalate issues, and help teams implement solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile practices, principles, and methodologies, including SAFe.
  • Facilitate the identification and prioritization of features and stories for product backlogs.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members and stakeholders on Agile practices and methodologies.
  • Ensure metrics and reporting are in place to measure ART performance and progress towards program goals.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the team's flow load, working within and across teams to align work and capacity. Realistic about what current team can accomplish.
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture within the ART and promote innovation and creativity.
  • Be proactive and comfortable in making data-driven decisions.
  • Change Management:
    • Facilitate the change management process to ensure changes are reviewed, approved, and implemented in a controlled and timely manner.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the impact of changes on the ART and recommend appropriate actions.
    • Ensure that change requests are documented, tracked, and communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
    • Conduct change impact assessments to identify potential risks and dependencies and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure that change management policies and procedures are adhered to and continuously improved.
  • Release Management:
    • Manage the release management process to ensure that software products and solutions are deployed in a controlled and timely manner.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop release plans, schedules, and deployment strategies.
    • Ensure that release packages are tested, approved, and documented prior to deployment.
    • Monitor and report on the progress of release activities to stakeholders.
    • Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Ensure that release management policies and procedures are adhered to and continuously improved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in Technical program management, product management or related areas
  • Strong experience in using, managing, and supporting teams with Agile program management tools, such as Jira, Rally, Confluence, with hands-on experience on JIRA query language (JQL).
  • Certification in Lean-Agile practices, such as SAFe or Certified Scrum Master.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to influence the enterprise with strong leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
