Service Reliability Engineer/Kubernetes Administrator

Role responsibilities:
- As s Service Reliability Engineer will be to accelerate Application teams ability to reliably and consistently deliver applications by developing standardized automation to form a common continuous deployment pipeline for functional engineering teams as a whole.
- Change management, problem management, incident management, performance improvement, and automation/tool development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively. Good communication and teamwork is extremely important. The role also involves participating in the 24 x 7 pager rotation of the team.
- Design, deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters and Red Hat OpenShift environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient application deployments and lifecycle management on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Monitor and optimize cluster performance, capacity, and security.
- Implement and maintain container orchestration, networking, storage, and security policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments, networking, and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automating application deployments and updates.
- Stay updated with the latest Kubernetes and OpenShift features, best practices, and security vulnerabilities.
- Provide guidance and support to development teams regarding Kubernetes and OpenShift usage and best practices.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of Kubernetes/OpenShift with existing systems.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies for Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps related to Kubernetes and OpenShift administration.
- Participate in On-Call rotations and respond to critical incidents promptly
Relevant Experience:
- Experience in an operational ITSM role, ideally in a mission-critical environment
- Exposure to operations in open-source and cloud stacks
- Min 5 years proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters and Red Hat OpenShift environments in production environments.
- Strong understanding of containerization concepts, microservices architecture, and Docker.
- Proficient in deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes manifests and YAML files.
- Experience with container orchestration, networking, and storage concepts and technologies.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible or Terraform.
- Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies and tools (eg, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
