JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Category Manager Remote

Job Purpose:

This role involves embracing the Procurement vision and supporting day-to-day procurement activities across all divisions globally. It requires effective risk control, understanding of business drivers, cost optimization, strong negotiation of contractual terms, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and collaboration with both vendors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Category Strategy and Sourcing:

Define and implement category strategies, whether for operational or project-related purposes.
Research and identify innovative procurement solutions for the assigned category.
Develop category strategy plans, including roadmaps and stakeholder mapping.
Lead cross-functional teams in executing strategy and performance improvement initiatives.
Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, including fact-based negotiations and cost structure analysis.
Negotiate commercials and contract terms with the support of legal and risk domains.
Mitigate contractual risks as identified in the service segmentation.

2. Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Procurement strategy.
Establish strong relationships with third-party vendors, adhering to emerging Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) frameworks.
Communicate vendor treatment strategies for ongoing monitoring to relevant stakeholders.
Support vendor exit strategies when necessary.

3. Operational Excellence:

Ensure that sourcing and category initiatives align with the organization's top corporate objectives.
Report and track benefits and performance of implemented category plans.
Facilitate the utilization of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) system to ensure financial compliance.
Drive enhancements to the Third-Party Management (TPM) Lifecycle.
Support the remediation of Procurement findings from internal audits or examinations.

4. Talent Nurturing and Team Management:

Lead by example and embed high standards of ethics and regulatory compliance.
Coach and assist team members with personal development.
Maintain emotional resilience and foster a high-performance team culture.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Degree and Procurement certification (e.g., CIPS) desirable.
Experience working for a Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI) preferred.
Coaching experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of Procurement and Supply Chain management.
Understanding of Contract Law and its relevance to Procurement activities.
Proven track record in applying Procurement skills to positively impact business strategy.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain complex relationships.
Team management or coaching experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong commercial acumen.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Clear and effective communication skills.
Strong decision-making capabilities.
Project management skills preferable.
Problem-solving and analytical mindset.
Ability to interpret differing priorities effectively.
