Strong knowledge of handling analytical equipment such as HPLC, HPTLC, GC, and LCMS.
JOB PURPOSE As a Chief Scientist, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the research and development efforts of our nutraceutical products. You will be responsible for overseeing the scientific research, development, and formulation of our nutraceutical products to ensure they are safe, effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of scientists and researchers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide strategic guidance to drive innovation and product development in the nutraceutical industry
- Lead and manage the research and development efforts of nutraceutical products, including the formulation, testing, and analysis of product prototypes, and scale-up for commercial production.
- Develop and implement research strategies to identify and evaluate new nutraceutical ingredients and technologies, and assess their safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance for use in product development.
- Provide scientific expertise and leadership in the design, planning, and execution of preclinical and clinical studies to support product safety and efficacy claims, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, quality control, and manufacturing, to ensure smooth product development and launch processes, and address technical issues and challenges.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and scientific advancements in the field of nutraceuticals, and assess their potential impact on product development and business strategies.
- Provide strategic guidance and direction in the development of the company's nutraceutical product portfolio, including identifying new product opportunities, evaluating market trends, and conducting competitive analysis.
- Lead and mentor a team of scientists and researchers, including setting performance expectations, providing feedback and coaching, and promoting a collaborative and innovative work culture.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as academic institutions, research organizations, and contract research organizations (CROs), to leverage external expertise and resources in product development and research initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as FDA, USFDA, HALAL, KOSHER, cGMP, and ISO, in all nutraceutical research and development aspects.
- Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related field, with a minimum of 12 years of experience in nutraceutical research and development, including hands-on experience in product formulation, testing, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of handling analytical equipment such as HPLC, HPTLC, GC, and LCMS.
