Job Purpose:
The End User Compute (EUC) Vulnerability Management Engineer role is crucial to the support of Global Security and Device Management services across Enterprise Technology Services (ETS). This role has specialised knowledge in workstation patching and device application management technologies and enjoys solving problems in collaboration with other EUC Engineers and end users.
The EUC Vulnerability Management Engineer keeps up to date with the latest developments and trends in the industry and reports to the Product Manager for End User Compute. The role will include a mix of responsibilities between general BAU manual patching, as well as providing expert knowledge and experience to tackle complex vulnerabilities impacting multiple applications.
Vulnerability management is a critical component of Flight Centre's cybersecurity strategy. It involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential vulnerabilities in ETS end user and datacentre and cloud infrastructure and systems. By proactively addressing security weaknesses, ETS can reduce the risk of unauthorised access, data breaches, and other cyber threats. Effective vulnerability management requires a thorough understanding of current industry standards, best practices, and emerging threats.
Job Responsibilities: - Keep abreast of workstation vulnerability scans and work with Security Operations to optimise scanning coverage for compliance.
- Prioritise remediation, focusing on critical vulnerabilities on workstations.
- Develop reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Educate on business risks, external/internal threats, and stress the importance of Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, and Hardening policies.
- Manage operational dashboards, vulnerability management tools, and contribute to shaping the organisation's strategic direction.
- Administration and Management of manual patching leveraging the following tooling: MS Intune, Kace and other MDM & MAM platforms
- Contributing to optimising software asset management to reduce use of problematic or manually patched applications.
- Work closely with Developers across FCTG to improve script-writing and application management to reduce level of vulnerability.
- Ensure systems, solutions, and policies are thoroughly maintained and documented
- Identify & implement optimisation and automation opportunities
- Analyse existing EUC systems and operations and develops preventative maintenance strategies
- Offers 3rd level support to implemented solutions
- Works with vendors to resolve issues when appropriate, e.g. PatchMyPC
- Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets.
- Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives.
- Selects appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications.
- Understands the importance of security to own work and the operation of the organisation.
- Seeks specialist security knowledge or advice when required to support own work or work of immediate colleagues.
- Communicates complex information to a non-technical audience.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years Administrator/Engineer experience in an M365 environment
- Experience with Azure AD
- Microsoft Modern Endpoint Management (Windows 10/11, Intune, AutoPilot, Quest Kace)
- PowerShell experience is a plus, including experience with M365 admin modules
- Extensive experience with application packaging.
