This role is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities for Plant & Machinery, IT and Sales & Mktg commodities of Indirect Purchase as well as on-boarding strategic vendor partners for the business units. It also entails aligning to benchmark and delivering within budgetary targets (Capex as well Opex) received from Business Units. The role must ensure achieving cost efficiencies by deploying various cost reduction levers.
The role within Purchase:
1. Calls for understanding of various categories of Indirect spend, especially in Equipment, IT , Sales , Marketing and consultancies
2. Requires a fair understanding of Software, Hardware and associated Services.
3. Has substantial exposure to sourcing and purchase processes, ensuring transparency and adherence to purchase guidelines.
4. Can introduce best practices and continuous improvements through benchmarking
5. Evaluates vendors on a regular basis to monitor and review financial health, operations, IR health, for long-term sustainability
6. Identifies potential areas of aggregation and convert such requirements to long term strategic engagements
7. Reviews RFPs for tech specifications, duration etc and identify to potential vendors for the same
8. Proficiency in Contracts review
9. Has strong acumen in SAP MM module and ability to understand and suggest improvements in existing software tools
Education: Bachelor's Degree

Relevant Experience:
- 12-18 years' experience
- Necessary experience in delivering end to end P2P and RFx processes, clear understanding of the RFx cycle with an ability to work through different areas of Purchase - Supplies and Services considering both Capex & Opex budgets
- Good understanding of IT related products and services including Design Software Tools
- Good understanding of Sales and marketing processes
- Understanding on various aspects related to Finance such as Budgets, Taxes, Imports etc
