Job Summary
The ESG Reporting and Controller Team is seeking to hire an Associate who is passionate about leveraging their expertise to prepare, review and validate the firm’s ESG reporting, develop strategic solutions, drive end-to-end controls, and provide value-add analysis supporting the progress toward the firm’s ESG commitments and targets.
As Environmental, Social & Governance Controller - Associate you will support the production, review and validation of voluntary and required ESG disclosures. You as an ESG professionals in Corporate Functions you cover a diverse range of areas from finance and risk to human resources and marketing. You will be an essential part of the company, ensuring that we’re setting our businesses, clients, customers and employees up for success.
As the Environmental, Social and Governance landscape evolves and becomes increasingly important to the firm, our (Line of Business) business activities and external stakeholders (clients, shareholders, regulators), the firm has established a Firmwide ESG Reporting & Controller Team to manage end to end controls, consistency, and accountability for Environment, Social and Governance internal and external reporting processes across the firm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in activities for Firm-wide ESG Targets & Commitments, including performing report validation, analytical review and variance analysis supporting the $2.5T Sustainable Development Target, $30B Racial Equity Commitment, and Net-zero aligned Financing Targets
- Participate in activities to support the preparation, review and assurance of external ESG reporting and ensure consistency across reports and disclosures
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and control standards for the Firm’s ESG Reporting and Disclosures
- Participate on firm wide teams on the implementation of required ESG related disclosures and reporting including any SEC and/or Regulatory Reporting
- Partner with the ESG/Impact Product Owner and Area Product Owner Teams to support the strategy and implementation of data sourcing, architecture & technology to support centralized ESG reporting & controls
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in a Finance organization with exposure to accounting, financial statements, and/or regulatory reporting
- Experience in Product Control, Financial Control and/or knowledge of ESG reporting/SEC reporting/Reg Reporting a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, CPA a plus
- Operate with a controls mindset with strong organizational skills, time management, problem solving, written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter, with a demonstrated passion for social enterprise, development finance, and/or environmental work; knowledge of the Firm’s ESG products, transactions and activities and/or commitments, preferred
- Project management experience/skills helpful
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Team player with the ability to successfully operate in a hybrid 3-day per week in office work environment, including the ability to work effectively across diverse functions, locations and businesses
- High competency in Microsoft suite of applications (PowerPoint, Excel) and other program management toolsets
- Experience with report production in Workiva (Wdesk) and Alteryx a plus
