Job Purpose

Reporting into the Head, Computational & Data Sciences, the incumbent will lead a translational informatics group that combines bioinformatics, multi-omics, computational biology and data sciences for life sciences and healthcare applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the application of informatics for translational applications, novel target identification and validation, advancing preclinical and clinical development, precision medicine

Oversee the development of novel omics solutions that provide value for clients across diverse domains

Establish cross-functional collaborations with Syngene operational units across discovery and development to create unique value propositions

Monitor projects, milestones, and deliverables to ensure completion on time and within specification

Develop concept notes, case studies, contribute to conferences for thought leadership and market development

Educational Qualification:

PhD in a relevant discipline

Technical/functional Skills:

Using data science, computational genomics and translational bioinformatics approaches to improve outcomes in pharma, healthcare and other domains

Working knowledge of content, analysis methods and applications that are used in therapeutic discovery preclinical research, translational medicine and clinical science domains

Knowledge of systems approaches to move therapeutics from laboratory to clinic

Strong domain experience across data driven genomics, target identification, repositioning, precision medicine

Experience:

10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an industrial setting

Behavioral Skills:

Team leadership experience with ability to communicate with customers and internal stakeholders

Ability to work cross-functionally

Strong interpersonal influencing and collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented, matrixed environment

Excellent management skills, including the ability to set goals, define priorities, manage individual / team performance, organize people and activities to achieve goals

Good verbal and written communication abilities
