Job description
Medical Coding We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10-CM and CPT), and the ability to accurately assign codes to medical records. The Medical Coder will play a vital role in ensuring that our claims are submitted correctly and that we receive proper reimbursement for the services we provide.
Responsibilities
- Review medical records, including physician notes, operative reports, and laboratory results
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Query physicians for clarification on unclear documentation
- Maintain accurate and complete coding logs
- Stay up-to-date on changes to coding guidelines and regulations
- Participate in quality assurance audits
- Train and mentor new coders
Qualifications
- 0- 2 of experience in medical coding
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
