POSITION SUMMARY
Systems Engineer is responsible for configuration, development, testing and maintaining applications and systems impacting global users. This role will work on variety of applications, systems including E2Open Supply Management, Oracle EBS Supply Chain, Robotic Process Automation, and data engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with product owners, QA, and other IT roles to ensure application design and quality meet the needs of business users
- Ensure high reliability of B2B applications through effective mitigation and countermeasures
- Maintain high quality and reusability of coding and configurations through peer review or through peer programming
- Create and maintain documentation or artifacts on process, code, configuration and other changes
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices on agile ways of working and technical acumen
- Identify, prioritize and drive continuous improvements to workflows and applications
- Leverage agile ways of working for communication, collaboration and workflow management
- Engineer data for BI and data analytics use cases
- Trouble shoot, execute minor changes, and creating interfaces/APIs via Biz Talk
- Manage changes, version control, across the multiple ERP's while adhering to Vertiv deployment and release process/change management process
- Use Problem solving skills such as 8D or similar methodologies involving problem statement, containment, root case analysis, action plan implementation, prevention, and validation
- Program or configure process automation tools
- Proactive daily, weekly, monthly analysis, documented results and drive toward automated workflows including reports `
- Technical / functionality interfacing with other IT teams within Vertiv and with software partners
- Configuration skills to execute or manage with 3rd party software platforms
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology related field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of work experience in design, development, testing and version control of business applications
- 3+ years of work experience configuring procurement and/or supply chain applications
- 2+ years of work experience in data engineering and robotic process automation
- Experience with b2b collaborations (supporting, onboarding) with internal and external ERP's
- Ability to learn new applications, methods and able to apply knowledge in practice
- Must have agile, customer centric and continuous improvement mindset
- Experience working in global corporation or international business environment is a plus
- Experience with data engineering using SQL or Python is a plus
- Be able to support limited business travels
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be fluent in English and effectively communicate with global customers and differing cultures is required
- Ability to write and interpret reports, business correspondence, and/or procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and business customers
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems, involving many variables, in different situations
- Ability to apply critical thinking to spot issues and identify patterns that may present risks or opportunities to projects
