Job description

Purpose of the Job: Cafal Advisors is assisting Rural Development Department, Govt. of Uttarakhand in building the newly launched House of Himalayas brand in Uttarakhand. The selected consultant shall support HoH in strengthening operations and quality assurance.

About House of Himalayas The House of Himalayas was launched in December 2023 at the Global Investors Summit in Dehradun Uttarakhand, with the primary objective of unifying and showcasing all products from Uttarakhand on a national and global stage. The brand aims to elevate the perception of Uttarakhand products by streamlining supply as per market demand alongside adhering to global quality standards. House of Himalayas seeks to amplify the "Vocal for Local and Local for Global" initiative and provide a platform for local producers to access national and global markets.

The House of Himalayas has a catalogue of more than 18 products across various categories. This product manager role plays a crucial part in developing and ensuring quality standards of the products. Furthermore the role also entails innovation and ideation for development of the associated products.

The

Technical Product Manager will lead the development of innovative products designed for the Indian and Global markets. This role is a blend of technical expertise, market research, customer engagement, and product innovation. He will work closely with food scientists, marketing teams, and customers to bring House of Himalayas products to the markets which are nutritious and culturally resonant.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Food Science, Nutrition

, or a related field. ·

Experience- At least

07 years

of relevant experience in

operations, product development and innovation, Quality Assurance in FMCG sector or related field. ·

Candidates Must have experience in building FMCG operations including processing, packaging, logistics etc. ·

Experienced or Trained in Quality and/or Food Safety Management system implementation (HACCP/ ISO 9001/ ISO 22K/ FSSC 22k) ·

Maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products, to measure performance against established standards. ·

Strong understanding of the Indian food market, consumer preferences, and nutritional needs. ·

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects. ·

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal teams. ·

Creative thinker passionate about food innovation and a customer-centric approach to product development. ·

Can demonstrate IT skills including experience of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. ·

Proficient in English and Hindi and able to write reports in both languages.

Scope of Work:

a)

Product Development & Innovation: Work with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and test HOH products. Apply the latest in food science and technology to develop nutritious, delicious products that meet the specific dietary needs and preferences of the Indian and Global markets. b)

Market Research & Consumer Insights: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, preferences, and gaps in the organic food market in India. Engage directly with customers through surveys, focus groups, and field research to gain real insights into their needs and preferences. c)

Supply Chain and Operations: Strengthen operations of HOH including sourcing, processing, packaging through process improvement and facilitation in technical infrastructure upgradation. d)

Strategy & Planning: Develop product strategies that align with the organization’s vision and market opportunities. Create comprehensive roadmaps from concept to launch, including timelines, milestones, and budgeting. e)

Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with internal teams; including R&D, marketing, sales, and supply chain, to ensure product success. Lead through influence, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. f)

Quality & Compliance: Ensure all products meet the highest quality standards and comply with local food safety and regulatory requirements such as TQM including ISO 9000, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and GHP. Ensuring compliance of quality standards for export as per Export Inspection Council (EIC) like ISO 9001 etc. Keep abreast of regulatory changes and adapt product development processes accordingly. g)

Customer Engagement & Feedback: Implement strategies for ongoing customer engagement to gather feedback on existing products and ideas for new ones. Use customer insights to iterate and improve product offerings continuously.
