Position SummaryPurpose
The Lab Technician will support Lab/field tests of Electrical and Electronic components in Oceaneering products. He/she will be responsible to maintain, manage and operate all equipment in the Lab inventory ensuring readiness for utilization.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesFunctions
ESSENTIAL
§ ASSISTS THE TEST ENGINEER IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION OF TEST METHODS, TEST METHOD VALIDATION AND COLLECTION OF DATA.
§ ROUTINE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, CALIBRATION, QUALIFICATION, AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF LABORATORY EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUMENTS.
§ MAINTAINS HARDWARE LAB EQUIPMENT LIKE OSCILLOSCOPES, MICROSCOPES, STRAIN GAUGES, AND ACCELEROMETERS
§ RAISES REQUIREMENT, ACQUIRES APPROVALS AND MAINTAINS THE PROCUREMENT, INVENTORY OF ALL LABORATORY TOOLS, AND SUPPLIES.
§ ARRANGES SUPPORT AS REQUIRED IN MAINTENANCE AND RECALIBRATION MECHANICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND INSTRUMENTATION.
§ RAISES EQUIPMENT REQUISITION, SERVICES REQUIRED WITH IT AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS TO MAINTAIN UPKEEP OF EQUIPMENT.
§ PERFORMS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF ELECTRICAL SUPPLY PANELS AND SWITCHGEARS
§ MANAGES LOG ENTRIES OF LAB INVENTORY USAGE AND/OR ISSUANCE TO PROJECTS.
§ MAINTAINS LIBRARY OF OPERATIONS AND USER MANUALS OF EQUIPMENT IN THE LABS.
§ PERFORM ALL OTHER DUTIES AS REQUESTED, DIRECTED OR ASSIGNED
§ DEMONSTRATES HIGH LEVEL OF INITIATIVE TO ACCOMPLISH INDIVIDUAL OBJECTIVES ASSIGNED AS WELL AS TEAM GOALS
§ COMPLY TO ORGANIZATIONAL HR and HSE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

QualificationsQualifications
REQUIRED
· Graduation (Bachelor degree) in Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication or equivalent degree with minimum two years of relevant industry experience
OR
· Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication or equivalent degree with minimum four years of relevant industry experience
DESIRED
§ Hands on experience with use of sensors like RTDs, encoders, limit sensors, etc. and sensor interface circuits
§ Hands on experience with 220 and 415V power supply and switchgears is desirable.
§ Knowledge in Electro-Mechanical Systems and CAD drawings is desirable.
§ Experience with troubleshooting electronic hardware designs including digital and analog circuits, microprocessor-based systems, and power supplies.
§ Good organizational and planning skills
