About the role:
This rolewill be responsible to provide Expert (L2/L3) Line support and deal with complex problems, proactively ensure operational health of the IT infrastructure as well as advise on the future development of the technological landscape, considering the TMF's strategy and newly available technologies.
They should also take ownership of incidents where L1 Support is not able to work out any temporary workaround due to the lack of knowledge. S/He will also deal with executing standard changes in a controlled manner.
Key Accountabilities:
- Second/third level Incident/Problem/Configuration management support, including diagnosis and restoration activities, including liaison with third-party support contractors and/or manufacturers as needed to escalate these incidents
- Pull together all of the critical IT Systems (on premises, Cloud and Edge) within the IT Infrastructure so that they can be monitored and managed from a centralized location with minimal effort
- Perform standard routines, queries or reports, setting up scheduled jobs
- Ensure that there are solid disaster recovery plans, backup and restore strategies for each IT service in place and ensure that these are properly tested
- Ensure that there is documentation for every IT service in place and ensure that it is up to date
- Provide Major incident support for all P1/P2 support representing Data Centre services. Also own and provide technical work arounds and permeant fix by following problem management.
- Ensure continuity by providing capacity planning, monitoring and maintenance of supported services.
- Analyse monitoring data, identify problems, and optimises performance as needed and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Write, review and maintain technical documentation for environments.Collect and maintain configuration documentation.
- Identify faults and issues and recommend appropriate paths to resolution and/or fix as appropriate.
- Work on On-call support during weekends and respective country holidays.
- Responsible for the entire operations responsibility of the IT systems globally during the time zone working hours.
- Ensure handover is given to the next time zone-based engineer to ensure the resolution/troubleshooting activities continue with the new person taking over.
- Ensure the monitoring alerts are acted on high priority and proactive system failures are handled to avoid major incidents.
- Proactive capacity management using monitoring and also on demand reporting to ensure there is accurate forecast and capacity management is handled with the collaboration from Engineering teams.
- Support and maintenance of the operating systems and related utility softwareincluding patch management
- Configuration and fine-tuning of IT Systems
- Collaborate within the team to automate repeatable processes and utilize the monitoring capabilities to proactively identify and resolve using as much as automation possible.
- Build, install and configure server systems in a physical and virtual environment.
- Monitor and optimize system performance taking both proactive and reactive measures to correct and prevent issues.
- Create and maintain documentation of tasks to be performed and system configurations changes. Also maintain and ensure accurate run books for the operations teams.
- Support Change activities and global patching activities as and when required.
- Provide adequate support for the local office workplace teams and ensuring the locally hosted applications and services are maintained and monitored well.
- Improve the efficiency and reducing the operating time of existing systems by making necessary enhancements.

- Perform Servers installations, testing, and overall maintenance & administration.
- Implement and administer Server roles and domain analysis.
