Senior Business Analyst -

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their Technology - product engineering function. A Senior analyst into techno-functional role with US taxation and accounting knowledge. May also be a liaison to external customers. Collects, analyzes and synthesizes data to document requirements, and translates into detailed technology needs & formal specifications. ensuring needs of stakeholders and business are met Reviews business and product needs, instructions, regulations, and laws for complex projects; implements these changes into software using intermediate level programming skills, testing, and providing support to customers as required. Authors & communicates requirements documentation Depending on the nature of the project, undertakes a combination of project management, technical implementation, and testing analyst tasks. Expected to have either a strong proprietary knowledge base or multiple years of previous experience in requirements analysis and authoring. Takes on higher level business requirements & specifications

About The Role-

  • Ensures & takes responsibility for the collection, analysis, validation, and documentation of annual Regulatory requirements related to assigned products as well Client's business needs including client's requests around these requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing changes in tax/reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions and related business processes to ensure that business requirements are effectively implemented to ensure minimal impact to clients or processing.
  • Reads and understands IRS and global tax regulations and requirements for interpretation to business requirements – specifically as they relate to the assigned products
  • Uses agreed upon business systems analysis processes to provide appropriate user interface design, application functionality and client documentation.
  • Participates in short and long term planning sessions with stakeholders to improve the user experience and business processes.
  • May lead and will assist in defining short and long term needs to determine business priorities.
  • May lead and will assist in driving the development & improvement of business processes within the technology and business organizations.
  • Serves as liaison between development across SBUs for process and business improvement and process and system integration.

  • Able to work in a team development environment
  • Able to work with various levels within the organization as well with clients.
  • Able to work with remote development teams to communicate business requirements and coordinate or assist with quality assurance testing.
  • Accountable for timeliness and project results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Responsible for estimating effort required for own work in addition to agreeing with other team member estimates.
  • Must have a working understanding of information systems, business operations, requirements analysis, and integration/design of client solutions.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology required.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 + years experience in a business analysis or accounting/tax role
  • Accounting/Tax experience or education required
  • Agile Certifications helpful
