Job description
Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Head will provide strategic and operational leadership for the HR function at the INDIC's manufacturing factory. The HR HEAD will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies and policies that support the organization's goals and objectives, and for ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and policies that support the business objectives of the organization.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team, ensuring that all HR activities are executed in accordance with company policies and procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, employees, and labor unions.
- Lead and manage the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that the organization attracts and retains high-quality talent.
- Oversee the performance management process, including setting performance standards, conducting performance appraisals, and providing feedback to employees.
- Develop and implement employee development programs, including training and development, coaching and mentoring, and career planning.
- Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, grievance procedures, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and regulations, and monitor changes to legislation to ensure that the organization remains compliant.
- Develop and manage the HR budget, ensuring that all activities are delivered within budget and that value for money is achieved.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management on HR performance, including key HR metrics, progress against HR objectives, and risks and issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures, and employment legislation and regulations.
- Proven experience in managing a team of HR professionals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.

- Adaptability and agility: The HR HEAD must be able to adapt to changing business environments and work effectively under pressure.
- Technology proficiency: The HR HEAD must have proficiency in HR information systems and other relevant technologies, and be able to use them to support HR initiatives and drive efficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws: The HR HEAD should possess a comprehensive understanding of labor laws, regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements. This includes knowledge of laws related to labor relations, wage and hour, workplace safety, discrimination, harassment, and employee benefits.
- Compliance program development: The HR HEAD should be skilled in developing and implementing compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations. This includes designing policies and procedures, conducting audits, and establishing mechanisms for monitoring and reporting compliance.
- Risk assessment and management: The HR HEAD should have the ability to identify and assess compliance risks within the organization, and develop strategies to mitigate and manage those risks effectively. This includes staying updated on regulatory changes and proactively adapting HR practices and policies to remain compliant.
- Ethical standards and integrity: The HR HEAD should uphold the highest ethical standards and integrity when it comes to compliance matters. They should foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization, promoting ethical behavior and encouraging employees to report any compliance concerns or violations.
- Internal investigations: The HR HEAD should possess expertise in conducting thorough and impartial internal investigations when compliance violations or misconduct allegations occur. This includes ensuring confidentiality, gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting findings and outcomes.
- Training and education: The HR HEAD should be able to develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs for employees and managers. This includes providing guidance on compliance requirements, promoting awareness of potential risks, and educating employees on their rights and responsibilities.
- Collaboration and communication: The HR HEAD should have strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with legal counsel, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. This includes facilitating open lines of communication, responding to inquiries, and coordinating compliance-related activities.
- Documentation and recordkeeping: The HR HEAD should have expertise in maintaining accurate and complete records related to compliance matters, such as employee data, training records, policy acknowledgments, and incident reports. This includes ensuring appropriate systems and processes are in place for recordkeeping and data privacy compliance.
- External compliance reporting: The HR HEAD should be capable of preparing and submitting required compliance reports to regulatory agencies or industry bodies. This may involve compiling data, completing forms, and ensuring timely submission to demonstrate the organization's compliance status.
- Continuous improvement and monitoring: The HR HEAD should establish mechanisms for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of compliance activities. This includes conducting regular compliance audits, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions to enhance compliance effectiveness.
