Job description

About the client: PSS has been mandated to hire a Head - HR for a fast-growing fashion and sports brand in the D2C sector.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is the development and implementation of robust people-related processes and strategies in India that serve to ensure our people are highly engaged and ultimately retained within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership to the executive team, focused on improving the employee experience, people processes, and service delivery in pursuit of achieving company and people goals
  • Ensure policies, processes, and practices across the employee life cycle are streamlined and appropriately embed diversity, initiatives to foster a diverse and inclusive environment that enables all team members to thrive, feel valued, and be heard.
  • Offer guidance and counseling to employees and managers concerning work-related issues and work to resolve issues proactively and positively.
  • Partner with management to develop and implement training and strategies to retain internal talent, and attract external talent.
  • Possess a strong understanding of performance management, change management, and organizational development.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex data and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations.
  • Utilize a data-driven mindset to identify key metrics that drive insights and inform decision-making to support short- and long-term workforce objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate and contemporize people practices/policies.
  • Build the capabilities of and mentor direct and indirect reports to effectively align talent skills and competencies with organizational needs.

Educational Qualifications And Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years of Human Resources experience is required inclusive of a minimum of 5 years in Functional Head capacity
  • Expert and broad knowledge of end-to-end talent operations and management
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and coaching skills that foster collaboration and development across and within teams
  • Must be able to connect with and demonstrate empathy for teammates at all levels along with significant influence and negotiation skills
  • Takes ownership; able to establish self as the 'go-to' HR resource.
  • Proven influencer; demonstrated ability to coach and counsel both employees and senior-level management.
  • Strong employee relations skillset; can earn trust and credibility with employees at all levels.
