Job Description Job Description : The Department Manager (DM) is responsible for the optimizing department's efficiencies in collaboration/partnership with the cross functional stakeholders.
As a DM, you oversee strategizing employee's performance and experience within your department. Work with key stakeholders to develop a successful road map for the department's smooth operation, including recruiting, salary management, succession planning, career advancement and talent retention. Your contribution will have an impact on the success and growth of the artists and the Studio
Under the direction of the Head of Strategy & Operations and working closely with HR, Production, Workforce and Recruitment, DM will contribute to the timely and efficient completion of the shows.
Primary Responsibilities - Onboarding & Offboarding – Induction, System Setup, Exit formalities.
- Career Development – Performance Management, Succession Planning, Training
- Employee Query Management – Addressing employee issues in real-time and support.
- Compensation Change & Retention – Parity within the departments/levels. Retaining core talents.
- Resource Management – Crewing, Hiring, Transfers.
- Asset Management – System Setup / Tracking and Delivery / System Returns
- Employee Experience – Floor Engagement/Employee Connect/Employee Communication
- Compliance – Attendance / Punchout - Timesheet / Any other Compliance
- Hybrid Working Model – Plan and Strategize new ways of working based on requirements (Performance/Project/Client/Technology)
Key Skills Strong project management skills and a sensitivity towards deadline related deliveries
Proven experience of strategic scheduling
Good general computer skills are required with particular emphasis on scheduling tools
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Organisational skills – Personal efficiency, time management and the ability to prioritise competing demands
Communication skills – Ability to lead a team, managing diverse personalities and viewpoints; the ability to build relationships and collaborate with all is vital
Business acumen – Strategic decision-making within the business as an influencer. Being able to understand company finances, resourcing and the ultimate aims of the business is important
Role modelling – Demonstrate and lead the values, initiatives and culture of the organisation
Professional expertise –best practice processes in people management and experienced in employee relations
Coaching and mentoring – Responsible for developing the skills of the department across all levels in the organisation
Trust – A trusted confidante on talent issues, unafraid of giving your opinions and expertise
Detail orientated, highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines
Qualifications Skills and Experience Technical Knowledge/Skills - Thorough understanding of Animation production pipelines and post production in general is essential
