Principal Product Manager, TurboTax Desktop

TurboTax Desktop was the first software TurboTax launched to give taxpayers the option of filing taxes on their own with complete confidence and a maximum refund guaranteed. The software is sold through retail, direct, and subscription channels and has become the platform that includes some of TurboTax’s most loyal customers driving $450M annual revenue with solid share leads in both the U.S. and Canada.

Your Role

As a Principal Product Manager for TurboTax Desktop, your mission is to continue to deliver for our most loyal customers while also making sure we innovate to meet the changing needs of the market ,overall category and TurboTax franchise at large. You will be responsible for creating a vision for the future, aligning strategy across product, strategy, marketing, operations and service delivery leadership teams, conceptualizing and creating roadmap, driving rapid experimentation and delivering innovative experiences to market. And you’ll be responsible for demonstrating progress against key success metrics.

Qualifications

8+ years designing and delivering world-class software products in a Product Management role with a proven track record of delivering results that impact critical business metrics.

A customer centric mindset. Demonstrated focus on learning from customers, a passion for solving problems (large and small) to deliver amazing experiences.

Proven track record of success in leading product development from ideation to launch and defining data-backed roadmaps that deliver for the customer.

Capable of decomposing a big vision into bite-size milestones.

Energized by working across multiple functions. Strong partnership and influence skill - driving prioritization and feature requirements to capabilities teams.

Strong ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decisions.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

BA or BS degree required. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience in the financial technology sector a plus.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize and create strategy, product roadmap and requirements for TurboTax Desktop products.

Collaborate with engineering, marketing and sales, customer success, and analytics teams to define product requirements and translate them into actionable development plans, driving innovation and customer satisfaction.

Create learning plans to identify and test the biggest hypotheses to drive your KPIs and success metrics.

Ruthlessly prioritize backlog and work across teams to drive work that delivers value for our customers & experts.

Present regularly to the leadership teams on project strategy and deliverables

Perform customer research and analysis to identify new platform opportunities and lead ahead of industry trends..

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new launches and feature releases.

Define and track key performance metrics to ensure product success and customer satisfaction.
