Job description
Play Simple is looking for a dynamic Associate User Experience Designer to join our talented team! The Senior UX Designer is responsible for creating player-centric design solutions that promote ease of use, employ best-in-class game/interaction design, and optimize the user experience universally. This includes all phases of the design process including conceptual design/development, graphics and interface design, Interaction models, prototypes, user/task flows and art production.
What is required of you
● You will be responsible for working with multiple feature teams and ensuring that UX is implemented to a consistently high standard across each feature. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in graphic arts, interaction design, or equivalent industry experience in the design field.
● You will be responsible for developing the user experience of game content and features that will be enjoyed by many millions of players and a truly international audience
● Experience on leading, staffing, mobilizing and developing a team of UI/UX designers/artists
● Expert-level skills in Figma or similar industry-standard prototyping tools. Proficiency in Illustrator/Photoshop is a plus.
● Assist in implementing design specifications to shippable quality
What we are looking for
● Possess an excellent understanding of usability principles, style guidelines, design processes, and creative workflow.
● Awareness of trends in hardware and operating systems, interface design, interactive design, and competitive software to help identify opportunities for innovation
● Develop specifications/guidelines for UI and interactions.
● Employ user-centric design practices to deliver world-class interactive game experiences.
● Ability to make design decisions and solve design problems independently, present and sell design concepts.
● Support design decisions from a practical, UX best practices standpoint.
● Interface, and collaborate with key internal client and project stakeholders to ensure the user experience reflects player needs and consistency.
● Real passion for gaming, especially mobile. You can reference the best and worst user experiences and apply the lessons to your work.
● Familiarity with a range of software you are comfortable with rapid prototyping and iteration of ideas, listening to feedback, and exploring options to make the game stronger.
Desirable Experience & Skills
Experience creating UX in Console and/or Mobile Games
Experience with Sketch, Figma, Illustrator or similar rapid-prototyping tools
Unity engine experience
