Job Description.
As an Estimation Engineer specializing in water pipeline projects, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of water infrastructure projects. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze project requirements, assess costs, and prepare accurate and competitive estimates. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with clients, and contribute to the overall success of water pipeline projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Assessment:Â
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant information for accurate estimations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements.Â
Cost Estimation: - Prepare detailed cost estimates for water pipeline projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Utilize cost estimating software and tools to ensure accuracy and consistency in estimates.
- Evaluate and compare supplier/subcontractor bids to negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
Budget Development: - Develop comprehensive project budgets based on the estimated costs, taking into account potential risks and contingencies.
- Work closely with project teams to establish budgetary constraints and financial goals.
Proposal Preparation: - Collaborate with the proposal team to prepare professional and compelling bid proposals.
- Ensure that proposals comply with project specifications and client requirements.
- Present and defend estimates and proposals to clients when necessary.
Risk Assessment: - Identify and assess potential risks associated with the project and incorporate risk mitigation strategies into the estimates.
- Stay informed about market trends, material costs, and industry changes that may impact project estimates.Â
Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimation activities.
- Generate reports on estimated costs, budget variances, and other relevant metrics for management review.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and procurement specialists.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and negotiate terms.
