Job Title: Cash Application Supervisor

Job Overview: The Cash Application Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising the cash application process within the finance department. This role involves overseeing a team of cash application specialists, ensuring that all cash transactions are accurately recorded and applied in a timely manner. The supervisor will also collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and contribute to the overall efficiency of the financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership:

• Supervise and lead a team of cash application specialists and handle a team of 15 people with stakeholders reporting.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

1. Cash Application Process:

• Oversee the daily processing of cash receipts and application to customer accounts.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all cash transactions.
• Implement and maintain best practices for cash application procedures.

1. Reconciliation and Reporting:

• Reconcile cash application records with bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Generate regular reports on cash application performance and key metrics.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

1. Communication and Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other departments, including Accounts Receivable, Accounting, and Sales, to address and resolve payment-related issues.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.

1. Process Improvement:

• Continuously evaluate and improve cash application processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement new tools or technologies to streamline the cash application workflow.

1. Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and best practices in cash management.

Qualifications:

• Master/ bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 7-9 Year of experience in cash application or a related financial role.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cash management processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
