Job description
Job Overview:
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for providing strategic direction, regulatory compliance, and clinical oversight in the context of the healthcare of employees. The CMO plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing healthcare policies, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and driving excellence in employee care for the organization.
Main Responsibilities
Occupational Health:
- Provide occupational health services to employees, including preventive care, health assessments, and medical examinations as per Indian regulations.
- Assess and manage workplace hazards that may affect employee health
Medical Emergency Response
- Coordinate and respond to medical emergencies within the factory premises.
- Conduct regular drills and training to ensure the readiness of the medical emergency response team.
Employee Health and Wellness Programs:
- Develop and implement health promotion programs to enhance employee well-being.
- Provide health education and awareness sessions on topics relevant to the workforce.
First Aid and Primary Care:
- Establish and manage first aid stations within the factory.
- Provide primary medical care to employees and initiate referrals to external healthcare facilities when necessary.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Indian occupational health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records and reports as required by Indian law.
Innovation and Technology:
- Identify and implement innovative technologies and practices to enhance environmental and sustainability performance.
Collaboration with External Healthcare Providers:
- Build relationships with external healthcare providers, hospitals, and clinics for specialized medical services.
- Facilitate the referral of employees for specialized medical care
Health Surveillance Programs:
- Implement health surveillance programs for employees working in specific high-risk areas.
- Conduct periodic health screenings to monitor and manage occupational health risks
Injury and Illness Prevention:
- Collaborate with safety and environmental teams to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Workplace Health Policies:
- Assist in the development and enforcement of health policies and procedures.
- Educate employees on health and safety protocols within the factory.
Health Records Management:
- Maintain confidential and accurate health records for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations in India.
Health Camps and Vaccination Programs:
- Organize health camps and vaccination programs for employees.
- Coordinate with healthcare agencies to administer required vaccinations.
Employee Assistance Program:
- Implement an employee assistance program to support mental health and well-being.
- Provide counseling services and resources for employees facing personal or work-related challenges.
Education:
- Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized Indian medical institution.
- Registration with the Medical Council of India.
- Associate Fellow of Industrial Health from recognized institute.
- Experience in occupational health, emergency medicine, or industrial medicine.
Experience:
- 15+ years of experience Industry Health Management.
