Job description
Direct team management, via demonstration of strong leadership and role modelling skills, of a defined Hyderabad Advanced Analytics Team to
o Provide analytics support to Novartis internal customers (CPOs Regional marketing and sales teams) on various projects.
o Support and facilitate data enabled decision making for Novartis internal customers using data analysis and data science techniques/methods on internal and external (3rd party) data to solve business problems
o Support NBS CONEXTS-ICS business in building capabilities by involving in various initiatives like knowledge sharing, on-boarding and training support, support in all business-related tasks/activities, building process documentation and knowledge repositories.
Also responsible for developing and coaching Advanced Analytics team at Hyderabad in line with Novartis people development requirements and Novartis Values and Behaviours
Key Responsibilities:Works closely together with the Function Head/Group Head (and in conjunction with matrix Regional Account Director) to shape and develop the Novartis Business Analytics function and address evolving business and customer needs.
Supports direct reports and also delivers own individual contribution.
Provides guidance, quality control and guidance in methodologies, processes and SOPs to enable delivery of reports within following areas:
Takes initiative to drive standardization of reports across markets within Advanced/Business Analytics team and work with CPOs towards its timely implementation.
Establishes, vigorously monitors and report KPIs take proactive action to continuously strive for improvements.
Manage the Service Level Agreements with various customer stakeholder groups
Ensures exemplary communication with all stakeholders including associates, and global customers through regular local and global updates with focus on accomplishments, KPIs, best practices, staffing changes, key events, etc.
Identifies and resolves operational issues, clearly articulate potential recommendations/solutions to local or global managers/partners; manage number of escalations to global office. Works with other teams (Forecasting, Sales Force Operations etc.) at NBS CONEXTS Hyderabad to leverage the cross-functional synergies.
Is proactive in planning; anticipating change and acting in accordance; drive meticulous implementation of team goals and metrics.
Grooms and develops talent, implements succession planning and mentor associates for higher responsibilities. Conducts performance appraisal of team members and manage the training needs of the group.
Provides input into the budget process (for local India viewpoint) and ensure ongoing detailed cost reporting in line with the global and local policies / requirements.

Lead the delivery for advanced analytical and statistical solutions for various projects related to promotion evaluation, multi-channel marketing (MCM) campaign design, return on investment (ROI) analysis, resource allocation, segmentation, targeting, and other ad-hoc business questions. Support exploratory research to identify new areas of application of advanced analytics/data science in providing enhanced decision making support. Comply to all Novartis operating procedures as per legal/IT/HR requirements
Role RequirementsEducation:
Graduation/Post Graduation (from a top Tier University) in Business Administration, quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Ops Research, etc.)
Masters (or Bachelors from a top Tier University) in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Ops Research, etc.)
Experience (9+ years) in analytics in marketing analytics, experience in pharma industry is preferable.
Prior people project management experience is a key requirement.
At least 2+ years experience in leading a team
Should have strong quantitative and systems background
Strong analytical thinking with problem solving approach Good understanding of pharmaceutical domain and data would be ideal Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Should have worked in an international company with exposure to working in cross-cultural environment. Strong and proactive business results-focus, and proven ability to provide insights that increase productivity Familiarity with process set-up, quality KPIs and operational issues / management.
