Overview:
The Area Manager of Mortgage Loans plays a crucial role in overseeing the mortgage lending operations within the organization. They are responsible for managing a team of mortgage sales & deputy officers ensuring compliance with lending regulations and maintaining highquality customer service in mortgage loan processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the mortgage loan process from application to closing
- Manage a team of mortgage Sales officers and support staff
- Develop and implement lending strategies to meet organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with state and federal mortgage lending regulations
- Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documentation
- Provide guidance on complex loan applications and exceptions
- Monitor loan portfolio for delinquencies and collections
- Collaborate with underwriters appraisers and legal teams
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessment for mortgage loan applications
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and issues
- Stay updated on industry trends regulations and best practices
- Prepare reports and metrics on mortgage loan performance
- Assist in the development and implementation of mortgage loan policies and procedures
- Participate in recruiting training and performance evaluation of staff
- Contribute to achieving company targets for loan volume and profitability
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration or related field
- 5 years of experience in mortgage lending
- 3 years of experience in mortgage lending
- Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations and compliance
- Proven experience in team management and leadership
- Excellent financial analysis and risk assessment skills
- Demonstrated success in loan underwriting and portfolio management
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers staff and stakeholders
- Proficiency in mortgage lending software and systems
- Detailoriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Certification in Mortgage Loan Origination (MLO) is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic environment
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
- Solid understanding of real estate principles and property valuation
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges
