Job description
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to build upon our penetration in the automotive sector, IoT and other verticals. This is an Independent Contractor role. Our current customers include Stellantis, Togg, Hyundai, and Kia. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this is a unique opportunity to integrate an industry-ready voice AI solution tailored to automotive needs, including first-to-market Generative AI-powered Speech Recognition, Natural Language Understanding, and integrated knowledge domains across dozens of languages. The ideal candidate has been immersed in the automotive industry and is equally adept at building relationships as they are working with world-class engineers developing groundbreaking technology.
In this role, you will:
- Identify, develop and close new business opportunities and strategic partnerships in a variety of verticals including Automotive (including EV and Tier 1 suppliers), SmartHome & IoT, Retail, Financial Services, Telecom, and others
- Structure, negotiate, and manage all aspects of the sales process
- Develop and execute strategic automotive account plans
- Work collaboratively with various engineering and product teams to ensure all closed deals have proper transition from sale to delivery/management
- Manage technical sales opportunities and initiatives
- Actively evangelize the SoundHound AI story and solutions with target accounts
We would love to hear from you if:
- You have 5+ years of automotive experience managing and closing complex sales
- You have a BA or BS, ideally with a concentration in technology
- You have excellent communication and negotiation skills
- You have a strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
- You have experience in writing proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and contract negotiation
- You have strong client-facing management skills with proven ability to build and manage across all relationship levels
- You have the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with different divisions in the company
- Your attention to detail and high work quality directly leads to successful execution
- You have a track record of delivering timely and high-impact results with limited resources
- You are able to travel to meet for business (20% of working time)
