Job description
Store Management
- Hands on experience in key Stores functions such as Material receipt & storage, Material Issue, Credit, PIV, Scrap Management, Inventory management,
Materials' Preservation etc.
- Ensure all Stores functions as per laid SOP.
- Material receipt – Following up with Transporters and arranging of materials unloading at right place using our resources and preparing GR for the
materials.
- Coordinating with users for inspection and follow-up with suppliers, Purchasers, Accounts departments for rejection material return and insurance
claims.
- Material Issue against Reservations by ensuring closing stock as per SAP records.
- To follow material issuing methods like FIFO / LIFO based on the shelf life of the materials.
- Perform to the satisfaction of Stores-in-Charge in any of the store's functions assigned using Stores team in co-ordination with all stake holders as per
SOP.
- Ensure 5S, safety and security at the R&M Stores and ensure minimal losses due to poor upkeep of materials.
- Execution of IMS. Measurement of Process Measurables.
- Actively ensure all internal (Eg. Internal Stores Mgt Audit, 5S, IMS etc) and external audit (Eg. Surveillance audits of 5S, IMS and Statutory Stores audit,
third party Fire and Safety Audit etc.) audits without any major observations.
- Ensure that the Established Barcode System is implemented as envisaged.
- Ensure coordination with External agencies for execution of outsourced activities.
- Raising PRs for Store Stock Items, follow-up with suppliers for in time delivery and Issuing delivery schedule to suppliers of Bulk Chemicals as per the
requirement of Users.
- Verifying SAP entries in the system, Proper Accounting of Materials and assisting in preparation of Stores MIS.
- To lead perpetual inventory team in maintaining accuracy of stocks and preservation of materials.
- Coordinating with internal customers in Inventory Management Activities like identifying Insurance Spares, Slow-moving, Non-moving and Obsolete
materials, VED, FSN classification of materials & proper SAP treatment for the same.
- Assisting in Scrap Management Activities.
- Actively participate in Cost reduction activities in material handling and team building activities for implementation of innovative ideas.
Documentation and MIS
- Ensure documentation for all Material receipt, Issue, Credit, PIV, Rejection, Credit dispatch of material etc., and preserve them as per established
system.
- Ensure that documents related to GST/Warranty/Guarantee/Test Certificates/E-way Bill/E-Invoice etc., are accurate and properly documented.
- Verify and validate the reports generated by the team and keep the entire plant team informed through a departmental MIS.
- Ensure that the team is recording accurate information in SAP.
Inventory Management
- Implement 'Storage & Preservation Plan' of various materials keeping in view the basic nature of materials like Paints, Wooden Materials, Electrical and
Instrumentation spares, Inflammable materials etc.
- Assist Site-In-charges in Optimization of Inventory Levels by regularly reviewing ROL, EOQs of all materials taking into consideration of ABC, FSN & VED
analysis,
- Assist Site-in-Charge in standardization and variety reduction for all types of Tools, Tackles, spares and equipments etc., purchased for the
organization.
Cost Management
- Ensure that adequate manpower is being utilized as per approved standards for store operations and look for opportunities to reduce on manpower
cost.
- Identify areas for cost saving and recommend action plans to achieve the saving.
Health & Safety
- Ensure safety measures are consistently followed and take initiative to enhance acceptance of safety as a culture so as to achieve zero accident level.
- Train employees on correct methods of handling the material handling machinery and equipment so as to reduce accidents.
- To ensure that all material handling devices are maintained in a proper manner and follow all handling procedures in line with our HSE norms.
People Management
- Ensuring proper work distribution among his team. Resolve day to day worker grievance / worker issues and ensure that the work environment is
productive and peaceful.
- Ensure his team is motivated so that the work can be completed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain good working relations with the workmen and other contract staff.
- Set targets for the team and monitor their performance against the targets & provide regular and ongoing feedback for team.
- Identify the training needs for the department employees and ensure provisioning of the in house as well as external training to the team in liaison with
HR.
Other Activities
- Look after any Special Projects & Systems as guided by Management.
- Looking after Stores' properties/Stores' vehicles healthiness, conducting Housekeeping Rounds, attending TBTs, Regular Training sessions at Training
Centre such as Inhouse training sessions related to IMS/Material Management/5s/Fire Squad training etc.
- Engaging in CSR Activities as and when specified.
Qualifications Any Engineer/Diploma Engineer/Graduate or Postgraduate with Material management Diploma with hands on experience in MS Office and SAP ERP.
